Dr. Coleman is a native of Hampton Roads. He was born in Newport News and grew up in Virginia Beach. He graduated from the Norfolk Academy and then attended the University of Virginia where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Physics. He remained in Charlottesville where he earned his Medical Doctor degree at Medical College of the University of Virginia. He then spent the next eight years as a physician in the United States Air Force, first as a resident at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio where he received his training in Neurology, and then at the US Air Force Academy, where he served as the first staff neurologist on the Hospital staff. He has been involved in the practice of Sleep Medicine since 1987 and has served as the Medical Director of several accredited Sleep Disorders Centers.
After practicing in Florida and Alabama he returned to Hampton Roads in 2000. He is currently the Medical Director of the Sentara Obici Sleep Disorders Center and the Sentara Belle Harbour Sleep Disorders Center. He lives in Norfolk with his wife Angie who is actively involved in the Fine Arts Community and is herself an artist.
